Map of Great Britain or Britain??

Great Britain is a political term which describes the combination of England, Scotland, and Wales, the three nations which together include all the land on the island. It is also a geographical term referring to the island on which the greater parts of England, Wales and Scotland are situated.

Would you call it Britain or Great Britain?
Sometimes people use the shortened(acortado) name Britain instead of(en lugar de) Great Britain, to mean the same thing, but really Britain only refers to England and Wales.

The name Britain goes back to Roman times when they called England and Wales "Britannia" (or "Britannia Major", to distinguished from "Britannia Minor", that is Brittany in France). The Roman province of Britannia only covered the areas of modern England and Wales. The area of modern Scotland was never finally conquered.

Why do they call it United Kingdom?
Because the United Kingdom is made up of:
•England - The capital is London.
•Scotland - The capital is Edinburgh .
•Wales - The capital is Cardiff.
•Northern Ireland - The capital is Belfast.

En la clase de Lengua, hemos hecho un programa de radio organizado por MªÁngeles, la profesora. Este ha contado con la participación  de toda la clase, y se ha organizado de la siguiente forma:

- Locutora: Loleta Delgado Delgado

El programa empieza con la voz de Loleta Delgado presentando el Programa Radio Lux Mundi, donde presenta a Mª Serrano con el parte meteorológico del día. Luego pasamos a las noticias del día( Viaje a Seattle, San Valentín, Jornada de Sábados de Puertas Abiertas y Quejas de Alumnos), acabando con  los deportes(mala organización de la Champiosn Lux Mundi, 3ªEso A en el tercer puesto y Invalizacion de un partido) Loleta da paso a la entrevistacon Poison dolls, y por ultimo el tema de debate

Ha sido entretendo, sobre todo la gran imitacion de Alex como Davis Bustamante aajaja

PROYECTO INTEGRADO: 2nd TERM - Students/Teacher Interviews

              •  Dateline: Thursday, February 24th,2011.

• Project to do with a partner in Spanish and its translation in English.

• Material:

 Questions for 4 students or 3 students + 1teacher

 Photo camera (permission from me, left at teachers room b4 classes)

 Pendrive to turn in your project.

 Creative minds mean creative questions to get great answers.

• Interview: Students or Teachers from School. From elementary students to high school.

• GRADE: In order to get an “A” (10) you must turn in the project on Word , Spanish-English.

 Creative questions.

 Avoid YES-NO questions.

 Different topics. Different interviewed students.

 Photo of the interviewer and interviewee in the folder.

 Correct grammar and spelling. This aspect will influence your final grade.

En parejas escoged un estado perteneciente a EEUU y realizad las siguientes tareas:

• Trabajo escrito en inglés, mecanografiado y folios en blanco.
• Debe recoger: localización, población, territorio, cultura, gastronomía, monumentos, aspectos lingüísticos (acento, vocabulario específico..etc), equipos deportivos, personajes importantes que hayan nacido en ese estado.
• Se premiará originalidad y profundidad.
• Presentación en formato "powerpoint" en inglés, no más de 10 min por pareja.
• No es un trabajo de "copia-pega" de internet. Si es así, será sancionado con la nota mínima (0)
• Se evaluará el progreso realizado en cada una de las clases.
