KET and PET tests at School - YEAH!!

Dear students,
You showed a great effort during the preparation of KET and PET tests this school year. I just want to say that no matter the result, you have worked very hard for these exams. I wish you the best on your results. We will probably get them by mid June or the beginning of July. We will let you know!
Big hugs and see you in class...

"Wish Clauses" Oraciones desiderativas / "Regrets"

IF ONLY is similar to I WISH but stronger.
WISH/ if only + Past Simple(-ed/did)   [Refers to a  present situation - UNHAPPY speaker / dissatisfaction]
He wishes he had time to go shopping. ( Le gustaría tener tiempo para ir de compras)
If only I had a new mobile phone. (Me gustaría tener un nuevo móvil) o (Ojalá tuviera un ....)
WISH / if only + Past Perfect(had ..-ed) [Expresses REGRET about a past action]
I wish I had bought the school yearbook ( Ojalá hubiera comprado el anuario del Colegio)
If only it hadn´t been so cold! (Ojalá no hubiera hecho tanto frío.)
Do you wish you had bought it sooner? (¿Te gustaría haberlo comprado antes?)

WISH / if only + COULD + base form [Expresses DESIRE for something difficult or impossible to achieve in the future]
I wish I could go to the shopping centre. (Ojalá pudiera ir al centro comercial)
I wish I could have gone to the concert. (Ojalá pudiera haber ido al concierto)
WISH / if only + WOULD + base form [Expresses COMPLAINT/CRITICISM about the present with a DESIRE for change in the future]  I wish you would stop arguing

*** SHOULD HAVE + Past Participle (-ed/3rd IrrVbs)
[Expresses regret or criticise someone´s behaviour in the past.
I didn´t know about Tom´s illness. You should have told me (No sabía de la enfermedad de Tom. Deberías habermelo dicho)
Sorry - I shouldn´t have said that. It was a stupid thing to say. (Lo siento- no debería haber dicho eso. Fue una estupidez decirlo.)
